FAQ

A few things parents ask

Here's what's good to know before your student's first session. If you're wondering about something else, just ask.

What is your cancellation policy?

If you need to reschedule or cancel, just give me at least 24 hours' notice. Cancellations within 24 hours are charged 50% of the session fee, since that time was set aside for your student.

How long are sessions?

Every session runs 60 minutes. That's enough time to make real progress without losing a younger student's focus.

What ages do you work with?

I work with students from elementary through high school, and I adjust how I teach to fit each student's grade and goals.

How does the first session work?

The first one is mostly me getting to know your student, where they're confident, where they're stuck, and how they learn best. We'll look at recent work, set a few goals, and start building a plan. No pressure, just a good first step.

How do virtual sessions work?

Virtual sessions are one on one over Google Meet. We share screens and use a digital whiteboard to work through problems together. Your student just needs a device with a camera and a quiet spot.

What is your travel range for in-person sessions?

I travel to Mansfield and Grand Prairie on weekends for in-person sessions. If you're close by and not sure whether you're in range, send me your location and I'll let you know.

How do I pay for sessions?

I take Venmo or Zelle. I'll share the details once your session is confirmed, and payment is due at or before each session unless we work out something else.

Do you offer consistent weekly scheduling?

Yes, and a lot of families do it. Keeping the same weekly time builds steady habits. I can also set up custom times if that works better for you, just let me know.

Can you help with everyday classwork, or just test prep?

Both. A lot of what I do is helping students with whatever they're working on right now, including homework and current class material, alongside any test prep they need.

What should my student have ready for a session?

Whatever they're working on helps most: recent assignments, a graded test, their notes or textbook, and a list of anything that's confusing. For virtual sessions, a charged device with a camera and a quiet spot is all they need.

How will I know how my student is doing?

I'm glad to talk with you about how sessions are going and what your student can work on in between. Just reach out anytime and I'll keep you in the loop.

Is there a long-term commitment?

No. There's no contract and no set number of sessions. We go at the pace that works for your family, and you can adjust or pause whenever you need to.

Still have a question?

Send it my way and I'll help you figure out if I'm the right fit for your student.
